My Editor announced she was sending a courier with a mock up of my POTENTIAL BOOK COVER over to my office.Of course this was a HUGE deal in my world, so the lovely new receptionist was on strict orders to ‘Call me as soon as it arrived’. This ’special delivery’ needless to say, arrived whilst I indulged in idle chit chat away from my desk, so I returned from said chat to find this huge envelope on my desk.My Book Cover.Okay, before the drum rolls begin, I have a little confession to make… Just before Christmas, I nagged my Editor into sending me a little sample, so I knew that it would basically be a different version of that. Still, I left my office in search of someplace private because I didn’t want an audience watching my every move as I struggled to remove bits of envelope. And then I opened it. And I realised that I didn’t hate it!Good start. But then, maybe I am the wrong person to ask about it because well, I just couldn’t get past the fact that my name was on like, a real book (sort of real). I mean, the ISBN code’s on the back AND according to the back cover, my book is part of Sustainable Reading!!!! Okay, I wasn’t quite sure what this was until a clever colleague mentioned it had something to do with being green… well that’s got to be good, right? So what’s the cover like? I am a bit reluctant to say until the final decision has been made… wouldn’t want to get too attached to it now…
